About Us

Voice of Kannaujis a Kannauj City area’s independent, non-commercial community radio station. It is a traditional way for person-to-person connections -especially at this point in time as new technologies increase isolation. Radio remains relevant even in the digital age.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY RADIO?

Community radio is when local people produce and broadcast their own programs and participate in operating the station. It is a community space for people to meet and collaborate. It is extraordinarily fun and often life-changing. It typically leads to individual creativity and self-empowerment. Participants find it extraordinarily satisfying, not just to make radio in this unique fashion, but to also help transform community life.

The urge to do Voice of Kannauj fulfills the basic desire for communication and self-expression and is at the forefront of today’s democratic movements. Typically, two principal aims are achieved:

Cultural, political, and artistic voices excluded elsewhere get heard.

Individuals and communities are enriched.

Mission

Voice of Kannauj is an independent, non-commercial community radio station. Voice of Kannauj’s mission and goals encourage improved communication, inclusiveness, and access to diverse ideas. We seek to stimulate, educate and entertain our audience, to reflect the diversity of the local and world community, and to provide a channel for individuals and groups, issues, and music that have been overlooked, suppressed, or under-represented by other media.Community volunteers are trained and given a central role in radio production, operation, and program development. Youths also get a chance to participate. Stations remain responsive to community needs and consistently seek input from listeners.
